What is the most you would pay for a piece of tofu?

A woman thought $2.50 was too much when she ordered lunch from a vegetarian stall at Tan Tock Seng Hospital's Kopitiam on Mar 30.

Stomper Belle shared with Stomp that she ordered one vegetable and two pieces of tofu.

She was shocked when she was told the total was $6.50.

She said: "I was definitely surprised, I asked the lady at the stall, 'One piece of tofu is $2.50?!'

"She didn't say it was $2.50 for a piece of tofu when I was ordering."

When asked how much she would have been comfortable paying, Belle said $1.50 for one piece of tofu 'sounds more reasonable'.

Unsurprisingly, she will not be patronising the stall again.

"Of course I won't go again," she said

"For $6.50, I could have a better meal.

"What do you think? Is it reasonable for a vegetarian stall to sell tofu at this price?

"Maybe you can enlighten me."
