22-year-old man arrested for selling fake USS tickets on Carousell

A 22-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a series of cheating cases.

In a statement, the police said that they received a report on Dec 19 on the sale of fake Universal Studios Singapore (USS) tickets.

The victim had transferred money to a seller on Carousell to purchase two tickets to USS.

However, she only received one e-ticket which was established to be invalid after she made checks with USS.

Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him on Feb 22.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect had paid others to provide their bank accounts for him to use to commit these online scams.

He is also involved in other similar cases of cheating.

Anyone convicted of the offence of cheating may face up to 10 years' jail and a fine.
