Three people were arrested during joint operations by the police and the Central Narcotics Bureau at Block 603A Tampines Avenue 9 on Monday (Jan 30).

The joint operations were conducted at around 5.40pm, the police told Stomp.

Stomper Roger was at the scene at around 10.20pm and took a video of the commotion, which had drawn a crowd. Someone can be seen closing a window at the block just as the video ends.

Roger recounted: "I heard loud noises. Someone confined himself to the room and threatened to jump down, but the rescue mission ended with him being apprehended by the police.

"The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) also deployed a safety life air pack on the ground floor."

Responding to a Stomp query, SCDF said it received a call for assistance at about 9.35pm and deployed the safety life air pack as a precautionary measure.

There were no reported injuries.

The police said two men, aged 28 and 43, and a 28-year-old woman were subsequently arrested for suspected drug-related offences. The 28-year-old man was also arrested for the offence of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means.

"A karambit knife and two handcuffs were seized," they added.

Investigations are ongoing.
