A 54-year-old man died in hospital following a chain collision involving his motorcycle, a lorry and three cars along the Pan-Island Expressway on Saturday evening (July 22).
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident along PIE towards Tuas, before Lorong 6 Toa Payoh, at around 7pm.
The motorcyclist was unconscious when taken to hospital, where he subsequently died.
A video circulating online shows a lorry behind two grey cars on the leftmost lane of the road, which is strewn with debris. A motorcycle can be seen two lanes away, in front of the three vehicles.
According to Shin Min Daily News, three lanes were closed due to the accident, resulting in a massive traffic jam.
Tweets by the Land Transport Authority on Saturday evening also advised motorists to avoid Lanes 2, 3 and 4.
Police investigations are ongoing.
