Photographs showing a man resembling an Opposition MP and a female party leader in close proximity have surfaced.

In the four undated photographs, a man and woman, who netizens say resemble the two politicians, are seen seated at a table in a restaurant with at least two other people.

The woman, in one photo, is resting her head on the man’s shoulder while his arm is around her and their fingers entwined. Another photo shows them in the same position, kissing.

The man is blocked from view in yet another photo as the woman tips up a large wine glass to drink.

Many people shared the photos in social media chat groups and websites yesterday, while commenting on the striking resemblance to the two political leaders.

The MP said to resemble the man in the photos did not respond when contacted on WhatsApp.

Among those who shared the photos was Parti Cinta Malaysia vice-president Datuk Huan Cheng Guan.

“I will try to find out where and when the photos were taken. Maybe it was taken a long time ago, maybe recently,” he said.

In an obvious reference, but not directly linking to the photographs that have gone viral, DAP Youth committee member Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud in her latest Facebook posting said this was the third personal attack within two months.

“I assume the general elections must be very near. No matter who is in the photos or videos in which I (was) allegedly featured, these are major privacy intrusions into that person’s life.

“I am sad that our political culture has gone to this. I have no time to entertain this type of personal and vindictive attacks. I am focusing on my work and my service to the people, especially the people of Teluk Intan,” said the former DAP Teluk Intan candidate.
