39-year-old man arrested after threatening to jump from Chai Chee St flat

The police arrested a 39-year-old man for unsound mind after he threatened to jump from a flat in Chai Chee Street Block 44 yesterday (June 4).

Stomper Hasmath, who alerted Stomp to the incident, said he came across the commotion at 10am yesterday.

He said that there were Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), police and Special Operations Command (SOC) personnel at the scene.

"This lasted till about 2.30pm. The man did not jump but the commotion drew a large crowd."

A Singapore Police Force (SPF) spokesperson told Stomp that the police received a call for assistance at 8.39am yesterday.

"A 39-year-old man was arrested for unsound mind," said the spokesperson.

"Police investigations are ongoing."
