Car turns turtle after accident at Sengkang East Way

Stomper Kevan's mother was on a taxi home yesterday afternoon (Mar 23) when she passed by the aftermath of an accident involving a car and a van along Sengkang East Way.

In the video Kevan contributed, a black car can be seen overturned at the junction. His mother said that the van was likely ferrying workers, and that she saw an injured man wearing a uniform resting at the roadside. 

A police car was also present at the scene.

She added:

"This junction is very prone to accidents. 

"I would like to urge all pedestrians to be safe at the junction.

"Look out for oncoming vehicles.

"Don't look at your handphone while crossing the road."

A police spokesperson said:

"On 23 March 2017, at 4.31pm, the police were alerted to an accident involving a van and a car at the junction of Sengkang East Drive and Sengkang East Way.

"The 31-year-old male van passenger was conscious when he was conveyed to Changi General Hospital.

"Police investigations are ongoing.”
