What's this long-tailed creature taking a swim at Punggol Waterway?

Stomper Karen noticed an animal taking a dip in the water at Punggol Waterway on Sunday morning (Nov 12) at around 9.15am.
She was in her home at Block 661 Edgefield Plains and looking out of the 13th floor window when she came across the sighting opposite.
The Stomper is unsure of what the animal might be, but thinks it could be a monitor lizard.
