Woman climbs out onto parapet to clean windows at Serangoon condo

A woman was seen climbing out onto a parapet to clean windows at a condominium in Serangoon on Monday afternoon (July 10).

Stomper Ali was concerned to see the woman risking life and limb to carry out her chores at Goldenhill Park Condominium at 70 Mei Hwan Drive.

He shared photos and videos of the woman standing precariously several storeys above the ground.

"I spotted a maid climbing out a high-floor unit to clean the windows," he said.

"It's a safety issue!"

According to the Ministry of Manpower, employers can be fined up to $10,000 and/or imprisoned up to 12 months, if they fail to ensure the work safety of their maids. They may even be barred from employing a maid in the future.
