A man crossing a road while carrying a baby almost got hit by a van that was attempting to run a red light in Ang Mo Kio.

Stomper Alan alerted Stomp to a video of the incident posted on Singapore Stuff's Facebook Reels.

In the video, the traffic lights are red and the green man is in favour of crossing pedestrians.

A van is seen approaching the crossing just as the man holding the baby starts crossing.

Fortunately, the man was able to get out of the way just as the van driver jammed on the brakes.

He then stopped to stare and gesture at the van driver.

Netizens slammed the driver and called for his licence to be revoked. Others said the incident was a good reminder for pedestrians to always look before crossing, even when they have the right of way.

Stomper Lau Lau alerted Stomp to a similar incident in which a car and a lorry failed to stop at a red light along Yio Chu Kang Road on Feb 29.

Fortunately, a pedestrian waited for the vehicles to pass before crossing.
