Taxi falls into drain after accident with bus at Toa Payoh, 70-year-old cabby taken to hospital

A 70-year-old cabby was taken to hospital after his taxi collided with an off-service bus along Lorong 6 Toa Payoh on Nov 26.

Stompers Wei Sien and Kym shared with Stomp photos and videos of a Trans-Cab taxi in a drain. A double-decker SBS Transit bus was nearby.

"This happened when I was on my home from work at Orchard," said Wei Sien who added police officers were at the scene.

The police told Stomp they were alerted to the accident at 11.15pm.

In response to a Stomp query, SBS Transit's senior vice-president of corporate communication Ms Tammy Tan said: "On the evening of Nov 26, an off-service bus was travelling straight along Lorong 6 Toa Payoh when a taxi suddenly emerged from a slip road, resulting in a collision.

"The taxi driver was conveyed conscious to hospital.

"We wish him a speedy recovery."

Police investigations are ongoing.
