A 33-year-old Singaporean woman died after her long hair got caught in the wheels of a go-kart in Batam, Indonesia on Feb 21.

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident that was reported in IDN Times Sumut.

The local news outlet said the woman with the initials AB was driving a go-kart at Golden City Go-Kart at Golden Prawn in Bengkong at about 3pm.

She was going at a high speed when her vehicle crashed into a track barrier, causing her helmet to fly off.

Several witnesses said AB was unconscious and that her hair was entangled in the wheels of the go-kart. Some of the strands were ripped off of her head.

She had reportedly failed to wear a hair net or hair protector as advised by the staff.

The staff on duty then immediately took AB to the Budi Kemuliaan Clinic for medical treatment but she was declared dead and subsequently taken to Budi Kemuliaan Hospital.

The woman's body will be transported back to Singapore on Feb 22.
