62-year-old woman believed to be jaywalking killed after getting hit by truck along South Bridge Road

A 62-year-old woman was killed after getting hit by a tipper truck along South Bridge Road yesterday (Sep 5) at around 5.30pm.
Stomper Marcus sent Stomp a photo showing the aftermath of the accident.
In the picture, the victim can be seen on the road behind a truck.
An ambulance and a police car were at the scene of the accident.
According to The Straits Times, the woman was believed to be jaywalking when she was hit by the huge vehicle.
Said an SCDF spokesperson with regard to what happened:
"We were alerted to a road traffic accident near the junction of South Bridge Road and Upper Circular Road at about 5.40pm.
"We dispatched one ambulance.
"A female Chinese in her 60s was pronounced dead by paramedics."
The 48-year-old tipper truck driver has been arrested and police investigations are ongoing.
