23-year-old man's head severed after fall from 15th-storey room at Hotel Boss in Jalan Sultan

A 23-year-old Vietnamese man was reportedly decapitated after falling from a 15th-storey room at Hotel Boss in Jalan Sultan today (Mar 29) at around 2.30am.

According to The Straits Times, Nguyen Ngoc Duy's body was found in a drain on a sky garden located on the fifth storey of the hotel and his head was found outside a fourth-storey restaurant.

He is believed to have hit the sky garden's railing during the fall.

A second Vietnamese man, 21-year-old ITE student Vu Truong An, had a slash wound on his head.

Nguyen and Vu were believed to be involved in an altercation before the former fell, reported Lianhe Wanbao.

Thereafter, Vu reportedly rushed to the first floor to seek help. Hotel staff then called the police.

Said a police spokesperson with regard to what happened:

"On 29 March 2017 at about 2.30am, the police received a call for assistance at 50 Jalan Sultan. 

"A 21-year-old man was found injured and was conscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

"The body of a 23-year-old man was found lying motionless at the said location and he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at about 3.31am.

"Police are investigating the unnatural death."
