SCDF uses hose reel to extinguish car fire on PIE

A car caught fire on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) towards Tuas on Apr 8.

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared a video of the burning vehicle after the Paya Lebar Road exit.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp they were alerted to the fire at 6.45pm.

The fire involved the engine compartment of the car and was extinguished by SCDF using a hose reel.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

On Mar 23, motorcyclists  were praised for stopping to help after another car caught fire on the PIE.
