SCDF rescues driver, 56, trapped in lorry after multi-vehicle accident at Pioneer Road North

A 56-year-old lorry driver was rescued after he was found trapped in the driver's seat of a lorry following a multi-vehicle accident at the junction of Pioneer Road North and Jurong West Avenue 5 on Friday morning (Mar 25).

Several Stompers shared videos circulating online of the incident showing one of the lorries lying on it side amidst smoke and debris.

The police told Stomp they were alerted to an accident involving two lorries and a car at 8.33am.

"A 56-year-old male lorry driver was conscious when conveyed to the hospital."

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the accident at 8.35am.

"A person was found trapped in the driver's seat," an SCDF spokesman said.

"SCDF rescued the person using hydraulic rescue equipment."

Police investigations are ongoing.
