SCDF frees tanker driver trapped in seat after Choa Chu Kang accident, pronounces him dead at scene

The 56-year-old driver of a road tanker was killed after an accident involving it and two other heavy vehicles as well as two cars at Choa Chu Kang Way on Jan 29 afternoon.

Stomper Edward shared photos of the accident's aftermath showing the crushed cab of the tanker and a blue police tent on the road outside Warren Country Club.

A video of the scene was also shared online.

 

 

At almost 3pm, the Land Transport Authority tweeted that the road was closed.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the accident at about 2pm.

The man was found trapped in the driver's seat of the tanker. SCDF freed him using hydraulic rescue equipment.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.

Two people were taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital while another two were assessed for minor injuries but declined to be taken to the hospital.

Police told Stomp that investigations are ongoing.
