2 passengers die after car skids at Seletar West Link, driver taken to hospital

A 26-year-old male passenger died after the car he was in skidded along the Central Expressway (CTE) slip road onto Seletar West Link in the early hours of Friday morning (Aug 11).

The police told Stomp that a male driver and a female passenger, both aged 26, were taken to hospital.

Stomper Kohji alerted Stomp to the incident and shared a video taken from inside a taxi passing by the scene.

The footage showed several police vehicles at the scene and a blue police tent set up by the side of the expressway.

A police spokesman said they were alerted to the accident at 12.10am.

The car is believed to have self-skidded.

"A 26-year-old male car passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic," the spokesman said.

"A 26-year-old male driver was conscious and a 26-year-old female car passenger was unconscious, when conveyed to the hospital."

Police investigations are ongoing.
