Man goes to Marine Parade police station, confesses to killing wife in hotel: Body and knife found

A 30-year-old man was arrested for the murder of a 32-year-old woman on Saturday (Sept 9), said police.

The man went to Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC) at about 5.05pm to inform officers that he had killed his wife at a hotel along East Coast Road.

Upon arriving at Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong, police found the woman lying motionless with a slash wound in a hotel room.

She was subsequently pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. A knife believed to be the murder weapon was recovered in the room.

The man was arrested at Marine Parade NPC.

He will be charged in court on Sept 11 with murder, which carries the death penalty.

Police investigations are ongoing.
