Man arrested for aggravated outrage of modesty involving 14-year-old boy at Marine Terrace

A 47-year-old man was arrested on Sunday (July 2) after he allegedly molested a 14-year-old boy in the vicinity of Block 52 Marine Terrace.

The police said they received a report about the case at around 11.30am.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs and police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the man's identity and arrested him within four hours from the report.

The man will be charged in court on Tuesday with aggravated outrage of modesty, which carries a jail term of between two and 10 years, and caning.

The police said they have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the safety of the community, adding: "Offenders will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law."

Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and to inform the police immediately if they witness an incident of outrage of modesty or are aware of someone being a victim of outrage of modesty.
