Gate secured with bicycle lock and debtor's note left at Punggol flat, man arrested within 6 hours

A 30-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of loanshark harassment in Punggol.

The police were alerted on April 25 at about 4pm to the case at a Sumang Lane flat where the gate was secured with a bicycle lock and a debtor’s note was left behind.

For first time offenders, the offence of loanshark harassment carries a fine between $5,000 and $50,000, with imprisonment of up to five years, and caning of up to six strokes.
