One firefighter was taken to hospital after a fire measuring about four basketball courts broke out at Toa Payoh Industrial Park on May 9.

Stompers Audrey and Wei Sien alerted Stomp to the fire and shared photos and videos taken at the scene.

"I heard two explosions and saw quite a big fire, I'm not sure how it started," said Audrey.

She added that the fire was already raging when she reached the area.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) shared updates on its Facebook post of firefighters at the scene conducting a firefighting operation.

They were alerted to the fire at 3 Toa Payoh Industrial Park at about 9.40pm.

The fire was contained to two units, a car workshop and an industrial workshop.

SCDF said the fire was extinguished in about one-and-a-half hours with six water jets and one unmanned firefighting machine.

"A total of 15 emergency vehicles and about 60 firefighters were deployed to this incident," they said.

In the course of the operation, a firefighter experienced cramps in his legs and was conscious and stable when taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital as a precautionary measure.

He was later assessed by a doctor at the hospital and did not require further treatment. He is currently resting at home.

There were no reported injuries.
