Employee arrested for allegedly stealing 2 luxury watches worth $173k from Tanjong Pagar gym

A 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing two luxury watches at the fitness gym he worked at.

The police said they were alerted to a case of a stolen luxury watch at a gym along Wallich Street in Tanjong Pagar on February 17, at about 6.30pm.

Officers from Central Police Division subsequently arrested a 24-year-old man who was an employee of the gym.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had allegedly stolen two luxury watches with a total value of about $173,000 on two separate occasions. The two watches have been recovered.

The man will be charged in court on Tuesday with two counts of theft as a servant, which carries a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.
