Driver allegedly caught falling asleep at the wheel, Ryde investigating

A passenger was alarmed when her private hire driver looked like he was falling asleep at the wheel.

Facebook user Hà Nhung shared a video and photos of the driver on her Facebook page.

She said she had booked a trip with transport booking app Ryde to go to work on July 23.

In her post, she said she saw him doze off three times, adding: "I'm so scared."

In response to a Stomp query, a Ryde spokesman said they are currently investigating the incident and will take necessary action against the driver if the claims are found to be true.

"Ryde advocates for safe driving habits and we hold our drivers to high safety standards as reflected in our driver handbook," the spokesman said.
