Driver, 69, arrested for suspected drink-driving after accident with 2 pedestrians at Toa Payoh

A 69-year-old man was arrested for suspected drink-driving after he was involved in an accident with two pedestrians at the junction of Toa Payoh Lorong 2 and Toa Payoh Lorong 1 on Wednesday evening (Aug 21).

Stomper Ibrahim alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos and a video he took.

In the video, an ambulance and police cars are at the scene.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at about 10.25pm.

"The two 24-year-old pedestrians were conscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital," a police spokesman said.

"The driver, a 69-year-old man, was arrested for suspected drink-driving."

Police investigations are ongoing.
