A Malaysian trader was recently fined RM1,500 (S$480) by Singapore's magistrate's court for damaging the side mirror of a Singaporean's luxury car, while riding along the emergency lane on his motorcycle, reported The Star via AsiaOne.
Md Hayazle Farid Rosli, 31, admitted to damaging the side mirror of Yau Jin Quan's Mercedez Benz which cost the Singaporean RM1,000 to repair.
The incident took at KM52 of the North-South Expressway at 10pm on Oct 30 2016.
Having pleaded guilty to the charge under section 427 of the Penal Code, Md Hayazle will receive a maximum punishment of five years' jail, a fine, or both.
Magistrate Muhammad Hidayat Wahab presided over the case which Deputy Public Prosecutor Natalie Chew Qi Wei. The accused was unrepresented.
Md Hayazle paid the fine.
