Cabby beats red light, causes car to crash into his taxi

Stomper Robin was involved in a traffic accident when a taxi beat the red light at the junction of Upper Serangoon Road and Potong Pasir Avenue 1 on Saturday (May 20).

The green light was in Robin's favour but the taxi driver drove on despite the light turning red in his direction.

A lorry driver travelling in the lane next to Robin managed to brake in time but Robin was not so lucky and drove into the side of the taxi.

According to Robin, there were two passengers travelling in the taxi as well.

"Luckily I was not riding a motorcycle and I have a dashboard car camera to capture the footage, if not, how to fight such a case?" said Robin.

The two drivers could not come to an agreement to settle the matter privately so they are leaving it to the insurance companies.
