Book lovers in the north are invited to check out the newest free library in the heartland that opened on Mar 23.

A Stomper shared with Stomp that the community library is located at Block 846 Woodlands Avenue 4.

The library was set up with the help of Woodlands Zone 2 Residents' Network and donors.

"The books are pre-loved from donors and the National Library Board (NLB)," said the Stomper.

The Stomper also contributed chalk paper to the little corner and said that one of the highlights has been witnessing children having fun drawing on it.

Although the library is ready, they are still sourcing stationery for arts and crafts.

"I just want to create awareness that Woodlands has a mini library and that it is open 24/7," said the Stomper.

"Come take a look!"

Currently, the library has not experienced any thefts or disturbances.

The Stomper suggested this is because there are signs indicating there are surveillance cameras in the area.

Last October, a community library in Boon Lay closed down following a spate of incidents, including people stealing books and shelves, and kids messing up the area.

However, a doctor in Tampines said not all little libraries are plagued with such issues and shared how the one he started is thriving.
