A big rat was spotted on a stack of egg trays in a People's Park Complex food court after hours.

Sharing photos of the rodent, Stomper Dan said he discovered the rodent in a restaurant called Spicy Bangkok Hotpot.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for Spicy Bangkok Hotpot said the Stomper provided the wrong information.

"This is not Spicy Bangkok," said the spokesman based on the photos.

"This is the food court located beside Spicy Bangkok. The name of the food court can be seen in the first photo."

The Chinese characters at the bottom of the photo indicate that the rat was actually in Friendship Food Court at #01-78 People's Park Complex.

Spicy Bangkok Hotpot is at unit number #01-78C.

When contacted by Stomp, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) said: "SFA is investigating.

"Food safety is a joint responsibility. While SFA puts in place and enforces the regulatory measures, food establishments must play their part by adhering to the food safety requirements and ensuring their premises are clean and well-maintained.

"Members of the public who come across any potentially errant food establishment should report to SFA via the online feedback form (www.sfa.gov.sg/feedback). SFA will not hesitate to take enforcement action if we have obtained sufficient evidence."
