7 women arrested at Koon Seng Road in year-end clampdown on vice and other illegal activities

Seven women, aged between 25 and 34, were arrested for offences under the Immigration Act 1959 and the Women’s Charter 1961 at Koon Seng Road on Dec 15.

Officers from Bedok Police Division led a joint enforcement operation involving officers from the Immigration Checkpoints Authority.

It was one of multiple island-wide enforcement operations conducted from Dec 15 to 27 during the year-end festivities aimed at clamping down on crime and illegal activities in Singapore, including illegal gambling, vice activities and drug-related offences.

More than 500 police officers were deployed across the various Police Land Divisions and a total of 254 men and 115 women, aged between 15 and 81, are being investigated for various offences.

An enforcement operation led by Woodlands Police Division and supported by the Criminal Investigation Branch was conducted in Woodlands, Sembawang and Yishun on Dec 16.

A 63-year-old man was arrested for using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty and a 51-year-old man was arrested for disorderly behaviour.

On Dec 17, officers from Clementi Police Division led an enforcement operation and arrested 12 males, aged between 15 and 21, for rioting armed with deadly weapons.

Investigations against the 369 individuals are ongoing.
