25-year-old driver taken to hospital after car plunges into Bukit Batok canal

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital after his car skidded and plunged into a canal in Bukit Batok on Wednesday morning (Aug 16).

Stomper Lifa said the accident occurred outside HomeTeamNS Bukit Batok sometime after 9am.

Photos and videos that she shared show an overturned black car in the canal. Rescuers and emergency vehicles can also be spotted at the scene.

The car is subsequently seen removed from the canal and attached to a tow truck.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to an an accident involving a car, which was believed to have self-skidded, along Bukit Batok Street 32 at 9.35am.

The male driver was conscious when taken to hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
