2 injured after truck crashes into prime mover that had broken down on AYE

Two people were injured after an accident involving a truck and a prime mover along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), towards the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE), on Tuesday (Sep 4).

Stomp understands that the prime mover had broken down on the expressway when the truck crashed into it shortly after.

Stomper Rajiv, who drove past the scene at around 5.15pm, filmed a video showing the Singapore Civil Defence Force and police responding to the incident.

He said: "This was near Benoi Road.

"There was a massive traffic jam as the prime mover was blocking half the road."

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to accident at 4.34pm.

The truck driver and his female passenger, both aged 58, were conscious when conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
