17-year-old arrested for driving without licence at 1am in Pasir Panjang

A 17-year-old was arrested for driving without a licence in Pasir Panjang during the wee hours of Jan 10.

Sharing a photo of the incident, Stomper Z said it happened near the Pasir Panjang Neighbourhood Police Post (e-Kiosk).

In response to a Stomp query, police said they were alerted to a case of driving without a valid licence along Labrador Park at 1.11am.

"A 17-year-old male teenager was arrested in relation to the case," said police.

Police investigations are ongoing.

In Singapore, you must be at least 18 years of age before you can apply for a driving licence.

The maximum penalty for driving without a valid licence is a three-year jail term and a $10,000 fine. Repeat offenders can face up to twice that punishment.
