Creepy doll at Dhoby Ghaut MRT station: Here's how it might have ended up on the tracks

Remember the mysterious doll found sitting on the train tracks at Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station? Well, here's an explanation on how it might have ended up there.

For the unfamiliar, netizen Ashley Soo snapped photos of the creepy-looking toy sitting on a ledge in the station's tunnel and posted them on her Twitter account on Jan 31.

The doll had big eyes and was clad in a crumpled and oversized outfit. It was removed by SMRT the next day.

According to The Straits Times, LTA and the Police have investigated the incident and found no evidence of a security breach.

Offering a suggestion for how the doll got there, Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan said: "One possible explanation is that the doll was accidentally dropped by a commuter through the platform gap, and then picked up and placed on the tunnel wall by a worker."

He added that objects being dropped through the platform gaps "are not common, but not uncommon either", though there have been no identical cases of doll sightings.

Mr Khaw was responding to Non-constituency MP Leon Perera, who had asked about the outcome of the investigation.
