Two female car passengers, aged 71 and 88, were sent to the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) after an accident involving a car and a mini lorry near Bukit Merah Bus Interchange yesterday night (May 24) at around 8.30pm.

However, they did not appear to have sustained serious injuries, said Stomper Nazar, who sent in photos showing the two damaged vehicles and an ambulance at the scene.

In response to queries by Stomp, the Police said they were alerted to the incident, which occurred at Bukit Merah Central towards Jalan Bukit Merah, at around 8.38pm.

A 48-year-old man was subsequently arrested for suspected drink-driving and police investigations are ongoing.
