Taxi becomes ball of fire along SLE at 3.30am

A taxi caught fire along Seletar Expressway (SLE) in the wee hours of Friday (Oct 12), at around 3.30am.

The incident occurred in the direction of Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), before the Woodlands Avenue 2 exit.

Stomper Samantha contributed a video that showed the taxi engulfed in flames.

She said: "I was very worried that the vehicle would explode."

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp in response to queries that they responded to the incident.

"The fire involved a vehicle and was extinguished by SCDF using a hose reel," it added.

There were no reported injuries.
