SMRT train driver makes Thai visitor "really trust the country of Singapore" after returning wallet

A man came from Bangkok to Singapore for a one-day business trip, but experienced a "nightmare" after losing his wallet upon landing here.

Facebook user ‎Natthapon Asswisessiwakul shared the ordeal that he went through on Oct 17 and wrote: "Could you imagine, losing [your] wallet, credit cards and other necessary belongings overseas at arrival and a serious meeting is waiting for you in [the] next hour."

Fortunately, a train driver from SMRT saved Mr Asswisessiwakul's day from being ruined.

In his post which he shared on SMRT's Facebook page today (Oct 20), Mr Asswisessiwakul said: "After it was really hopeless, Mr Sai Yusoff, [an] SMRT train driver at Changi Airport found my wallet and passed it to staff who [were] on duty at Tanah Merah MRT Station.

"You all did not only bring back my day, but the whole trip became wonderful. In addition, you make me really trust the country of Singapore."

Mr  Asswisessiwakul also expressed a "million thanks" for SMRT's great team and his gratitude towards Mr Sai Yusoff.

In response, SMRT thanked the user for his feedback and added: "Your appreciation will encourage our staff to continue serving our commuters better."
