Roaring flames engulfing BMW at Rivervale Dr put out by brave SCDF officers

A black BMW was engulfed in roaring flames at Rivervale Drive in Sengkang yesterday (Jun 16) at around 11.30am.

Stomper Loh who was home during the time of incident took a video from his windows.

In the video, the vehicle was seen burning and emitting a large amount of black smoke, as SCDF firefighter briskly approached the flames with fire extinguishers.

Said Loh:

“There were explosions coming from the vehicle.

"I was quite shocked.

"Seems like there are a lot of car catching fire lately.

“Kudos to the brave officers who faced the blazing fire!”

The SCDF issued an official statement on the incident:

“SCDF were alerted to a case of fire along Rivervale Drive on Jun 16 at 11.25am.

“A fire engine, Red Rhino and a fire bike were dispatched.

“The fire involved the engine compartment of a car.

“It was put out using a water jet.

“There were no reported injuries.

“The cause of the fire is still under investigation.”
