Woman in her 50s sent to hospital with head injuries after accident near Kranji MRT Station

A woman was seen lying on the road after an accident near Kranji MRT Station today (Jan 11) at around 11.50am.

Stomper Peter was driving past when he saw her.

He shared a photo of the scene with Stomp showing passers-by coming to the woman's aid.

A tipper truck had stopped behind the woman and a car was parked to the right of her.

"I did not see what happened, but I think that she may have been hit by the truck," said Peter.

In response to Stomp media queries, a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesman said that they were alerted to the incident at the junction of Kranji Road and Turf Club Avenue at around 11.50am.

"A female in her 50s was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital head injuries," he said. "The hospital was alerted to be on standby."

In response to a Stomp query, a police spokesman said: . 

“On Jan 11, 2018 at 11.52am, the Police were alerted to an accident involving a trailer and a pedestrian at the junction of Woodlands Road and Turf Club Avenue. The pedestrian, a 55-year-old woman, was conscious when conveyed to KTPH. Police investigations are ongoing.”
