Lorry carrying skip bin of used paint tins on fire at junction near Joo Koon MRT station

A lorry carrying a skip bin of used paint tins caught fire near Joo Koon MRT station on Tuesday (March 28).

Stompers Aik Leang and Reena separately shared videos of the incident taken at around 5.30pm.

Reena said: "I was on my way home when I saw the back of this truck on fire. I'm not sure what happened."

In reponse to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted at about 5.45pm to a fire at the junction of Benoi Road and Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim.

"The fire involved a skip bin carrying disposed paint tins. SCDF extinguished the fire using one water jet." said SCDF, adding that no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
