Stomper Marshall was shocked to see a herd of wild boars roaming outside a fish farm at Pasir Ris Drive 3 on Sep 13.

He was taking photos at the fish farm when he heard some strange sounds.

When he turned around he saw at least 10 wild boars.

"They were very big, I think they were all adult boars," said Marshall.

"I quickly ran away and took photos of them from afar which is why my photos are quite blurry."

He added that he noticed the boars' tusks and feels it is dangerous that so many of them are roaming around the area.

"I think people passing through here should be careful and look out for the wild boars," he added.

According to NParks, this is what you should do when you encounter wild boars:

  • Be calm and move slowly away from the animal. Do not approach or attempt to feed the animal.
  • Keep a safe distance and do not corner or provoke the animal i.e. by using a flash while taking pictures of it.
  • If you see adults with young piglets, leave them alone. These are potentially more dangerous because they may attempt to defend their young.
