Fire breaks out in bedroom of flat at Block 126A Kim Tian Road

A fire broke out in a bedroom of an HDB flat at Block 126A Kim Tian Road at around 2.20pm yesterday.

A video of what happened posted on All Singapore Stuff shows flames emerging through a window of the burning unit on the seventh storey.

The fire had attracted a crowd of onlookers who stopped to see what happened at the foot of the block.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) subsequently arrived to render assistance.

Said an SCDF spokesman in response to a Stomp query:

"SCDF was alerted to a fire incident at 126A Kim Tian Road at around 2.20pm. 

"SCDF dispatched two fire engines, one Red Rhino, two Fire Bikes, one ambulance and one support vehicle to the scene.

"Upon arrival, SCDF conducted forcible entry to gain access to the unit.

"The fire involving the contents of a bedroom was extinguished using one water jet.

"There were no reported injuries.

"The cause of the fire is under investigation."
