A fire broke out at the McDonald's outlet at Bedok North Street 3 on Sep 27.

According to a police spokesperson, they were first alerted to a case of mischief at Block 539 Bedok North Street 3 at 6.25pm.

Stomper Elizabeth, who was heading to McDonald's for dinner, saw smoke billowing out of the fast food outlet.

She described what she saw in a telephone interview with Stomp:

"The area was very smoky. I also saw the staff running to the toilet to get water. Thankfully, people had already run out and were standing outside."

A video circulating on Twitter shows smoke outside of the McDonald's outlet and onlookers gathering.

Stomp understands that the fire was in the toilet.

Police investigations are ongoing.
