Workers evacuated from Mapletree Business City building

Update at 4.42pm: Stomper D says that he understands that the evacuation was part of a fire drill.  

Original article: Workers at a Mapletree Business City building on 10 Pasir Panjang Road were evacuated at about 10am today (Jun 20).

Stomper D, who was one of the office workers evacuated, described the situation as being 'messy' in a phone interview with Stomp.

“The broadcast announcement stated that ‘this is a real situation. Please evacuate’, the Stomper told Stomp. 

He added: 

“We left the office and walked down 15 storeys.

“The assembly area was an underground carpark at Block 50, some distance away from the office so I couldn't really tell if the authorities had arrived or not.

"There wasn't any smoke."
