Bus catches fire at junction of Sims Way and Geylang Lorong 6

A bus was spotted on fire at the junction of Sims Way and Lorong 6 Geylang at about 2.50pm on Sep 8.

In a video shared by a Stomper, the stationary bus can be seen on the right side of the road with thick grey smoke billowing out of its windows. 

Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel can also be seen cordoning off the area.

In response to a media query from Stomp, SCDF said: ​"SCDF responded to a vehicle fire incident at the junction of Sims Way and Lorong 6 Geylang, at about 2.50pm.

"The fire was extinguished by SCDF using a water jet.

"There was no reported injury and the cause of fire is under investigation."
