1 injured after fire involving lorry breaks out at Punggol Walk

A person was injured after a fire that involved a lorry broke out at a service road near 308C Punggol Walk on Saturday (Aug 8).

Stomper Bill alerted Stomp to the incident and shared a photo that he took from far of the smoke in the air.

"The fire was near Waterway Point in Punggol," he shared.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the fire at about 12.25pm.

"A car that was parked adjacent to the burning vehicle was also affected by the fire," said SCDF.

"SCDF extinguished the fire using two compressed air foam backpacks and one water jet.

"One person refused conveyance for his injuries."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
