62 people trapped after roof of shopping mall in Klang collapses

In a freak accident, parts of the roofing in a building block of Centro Mall in Klang, Malaysia which was undergoing renovations came crashing down, trapping 62 people beneath yesterday (Mar 14) at around 10.45am.

A piece of the ceiling, measuring 200 by 100 square feet had fallen, reports The Coverage

20 fire and three fire engines were dispatched to the scene to aid with the situation.

five ambulances were also there, and a medical base was set up to provide emergency aid to the wounded. 

Fortunately, all 62 victims were evacuated safely, and the rumbles have also been cleared to eliminate the possibility of more trapped victims.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
