Road hogger refuses to give way to 2 Traffic Police cars at Upper Paya Lebar Road

To road hog is one thing.

But to do it right in front of the Traffic Police is next level.

A car was caught on camera failing to give way to two Traffic Police vehicles along Upper Paya Lebar Road on Oct 5.

Dashcam footage of the incident was posted on the Beh Chia Lor Facebook page.

In the video, the black car can be seen hogging the rightmost lane as it was tailgated by a Traffic Police car with its lights flashing.

A second Traffic Police car appeared in the same lane, but the car still refused to give away.

Eventually, the second police car overtook the black car on the left and sped off leaving the first police vehicle behind.

Netizens slammed the car driver.

One commented: "Sibeh daring...either goondu or brain spoiled."

Another said: "Now TP (Traffic Police) understand our daily struggle and why we choose to overtake this kind of drivers from the left."

The penalty for failing to give way to emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire brigades or police vehicles is four demerit points and a $150 fine for a light vehicle or a $200 fine for a heavy vehicle.

Road hogging is also an offence with penalties that include jail.
