Man arrested for snatch theft of $3k gold chain in Toa Payoh

A 62-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly snatching a gold chain from a victim along Lorong 4 Toa Payoh.
On Feb 12 at 5.50am, the police were alerted to a case of snatch theft.
The culprit is unknown to the victim and the gold chain was valued at $3,000.
The man was arrested on the same day.
He will be charged in court on Feb 14 with snatch theft.
The offence carries a jail term of between one and seven years and caning. Those over 50 years old cannot be caned.
