3 men swimming from Malaysia to Singapore arrested for unlawful entry

Three men were arrested for unlawful entry into Singapore by the Police Coast Guard (PCG) on Dec 9.
At about 10.58pm, officers detected the three swimmers, aged between 22 and 29, heading towards Singapore from Malaysia.
Both land and sea resources were deployed to apprehend the men.
They were then intercepted and arrested for unlawful entry into Singapore under the Immigration Act, Chapter 133, at 11.22p.m.
Under the Immigration Act (Cap 133), the penalties for illegal entry are a jail term of up to six months plus a minimum of three strokes of the cane.
